With the latest color-blocking trend hitting the runways and streets of New York, Milan and Paris, super-bold brights are making a comeback in a big way. Neon pinks, oranges, greens and yellows are being spotted from full on ensembles to matching accessories and according to Achelle Dunaway, creative director and makeup artist for e.l.f. cosmetics. She shares her favorite looks and how-to’s for beauty mavens and novices alike: The Bolder, The Better “This season, it’s all about striking shades,” says Dunaway. “Whether the focus is on eyes, lips or nails, stick with bold color choices and don’t be afraid to choose funky shades to create a fun and multidimensional look. I like to pair the yellow and pink hues from e.l.f. Essentials Duo Eye Shadow Cream in Sugar Cookie ($1) and then add a touch of shimmer across the lash lines with e.l.f. Essentials Shimmer Eyeliner in Grassy Green ($1) to give the effects of an illuminating highlighter. Add two coats of lengthening Mascara for that extra Va-Va-Voom appeal and you’re good to go!” Matchy – Matchy Is Catchy! The color-blocking trend is back, but now it applies to your makeup! “I love matching lips with nails – it’s the perfect way to transcend this look for everyday wear,” says Dunaway. “Orange is the hottest shade of the season so it’s easy to find the perfect hue to complement any skin tone. My must-have of the moment is the NEW e.l.f. Studio Matte Lip Color in Coral ($3) because it doesn’t dry out lips and the color lasts for-evvv-er. Top off your tips with bright orange polish such as e.l.f. Nail Polish in Fire Coral ($1) and you’ve got a scorching spring look!” Guilt-Free Glow “There’s nothing more timeless or sexier than a flawless, radiant you and naturally glowing skin will ensure you stand out from the crowd,” says Dunaway. “Create a delicate, smooth complexion with a lightweight tinted moisturizer with added skincare benefits such as NEW e.l.f. Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 ($3), it contains spf for protection, aloe and vitamins a and e for around-the-clock hydration. Add a bold statement by blending a hot-pink cream blush such as e.l.f. Studio Cream Blush in Flirt ($6) to the apples of cheeks for a faux sun-kissed glow!” All e.l.f items listed above are available at eyeslipsface.com and Target stores nationwide.
