Sunscreens with New Functions for Sale in Japan

● TOKYO: Three major Japanese cosmetics manufacturers are set to introduce sunscreens featuring distinct new functions. Shiseido Co. will release sunscreens under the Anessa brand that can be easily washed away without the use of a special cleansing agent.
Kanebo Cosmetics is offering a flexible coated film that expands and contracts as the skin moves. The active on the film, to be marketed under the Allie brand, does not develop cracks on the surface of the coated area, helping to lengthen the period of its effectiveness.
Resoa Whitening UV Protector EO, a product of Kose Corp., features a vitamin C derivative called ascorbyl glucoside that whitens the skin. The derivative also helps prevent freckles.
