SD pigments and fillers from Gelest PCS are coated with a hydroxyl terminated silsesquioxane network that improves adhesion to skin and hair. The line includes titanium dioxide, yellow iron oxide, red iron oxide, black iron oxide, ultramarine blue, sericite and talc. Because SD pigments are hydrophobic, yet are not overly sensitive to oils (including sebum), they are particularly suited for use in eye makeup formulations, according to the company. These materials offer several performance benefits, including: • Water repellency; • Low oil absorption; • High solids dispersions formation; • Improved skin adhesion and • Improved wear.
