The Personal Care Product Council (PCPC)’s Sustainability Handbook, now available, is intended to provide valuable information that will enable companies at various stages on their sustainability journey to advance their practice. It provides definitions, concepts, practical advice and resources to help develop a thoughtful approach to effectively manage the triple bottom line: people, planet and profit. The 2021 Sustainability Handbook provides practical guidance for advancing a company’s sustainability practice. This easy-to-use resource with definitions, and numerous charts and graphic models, contains practical information on the history and business case for sustainability; how to use an environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework; tools and concepts to assess and manage product impacts; how to develop a strategy informed by materiality; and communicating performance with key stakeholders. In addition, the Handbook also provides numerous resources and membership organizations that can help inform and advance a company’s sustainability practice, regardless of where they are on their journey. The organization is planning its Virtual Summit for May 11-13, as reported in Happi. The content is organized into six sections: · What is Sustainability? and Defining the Business Case · Business Drivers and How Sustainability Creates Business and Societal Values · Environmental, Social and Governance Dimensions of Sustainability · Product Stewardship and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Tools; Strategy Development and Materiality · Communicating Performance and Reporting Standards · Coalitions, Collaborations and Resources to Advance Practice For more information on the book, contact Natasha Clover.
