During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, P&G’s Swiffer and Walmart are partnering with Cleaning for a Reason, a Lewisville, TX-based non profit group that aids women who are battling cancer by teaming up with cleaning services across the US and Canada.

“I started this organization when a woman told me she couldn’t afford to have her house cleaned because of her medical bills,” said Debbie Sardone, founder of Cleaning for a Reason. “It’s women, undergoing the physical, emotional and financial rigors of cancer treatment, who need professional housecleaning services the most and we are so grateful to Swiffer and Walmart for helping expand our reach.”

Swiffer and Walmart aim to raise awareness with pink Swiffer Sweepers, WetJets and Dusters displayed in specially branded pallets. The display features a Walmart associate who is a breast cancer survivor. Through Swiffer, Walmart and Cleaning for a Reason, millions of shoppers will be exposed to the non-profit’s mission and commitment to helping those affected by cancer.

“With this type of exposure, more women will become aware of what we offer and more maid services will become partners to help ease the burden of these brave women who are in the fight of their lives,” added Sardone.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month creates a natural opportunity for Cleaning for a Reason to raise awareness of their mission to ease the burden of household chores for women. Currently, there are more than 1,000 maid services in U.S. and Canada who volunteer their time and services to provide free professional cleanings. They “bring meaning to cleaning” by providing more than 13,000 free housecleanings to date, allowing women to focus their energy on fighting cancer. Maid services that want to volunteer and cancer patients who would need free cleanings can sign up at www.CleaningForAReason.org.

Since 2006, Cleaning for Reason has donated up to $3.7 million in free services. The group works with more than 1,000 residential cleaning services
