Symrise Loses Appeal for Testing on Sunscreen Components

European Chemicals Agency decides on rules under REACH regulations.

Symrise has lost an appeal against the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) decision in regards to animal testing on cosmetics ingredients.

According to reports, the decision pertains to two sunscreen ingredients: homosalate and 2-ethylhexyl salicylate. These components are already approved and used exclusively in sunscreens.
