Gotham Beauty, an online site that sells natural, organic or ethical cosmetics, skincare, bath and body, fragrance, home care and accessories, has served a cease and desist notice to Christopher Coffee, the entrepreneur behind Gotham Beauty Lounge for allegedly infringing its intellectual property rights.

Located in New York City, Gotham Beauty Lounge is new facility that bills itself as a one-stop-shop for all beauty needs, specializing in both men’s and women’s skincare, hair, nail and make-up services. It was scheduled to open this week near Bryant Park.

“My team and I have diligently built Gotham Beauty as a go-to destination for those who have a passion for natural and organic beauty products,” said Richard Annington, the founder and CEO of Gotham Beauty, which was founded in 2010.

According to Gotham Beauty, the intended opening of Coffee’s beauty spa “and his plagiarizing of our brand name is an unscrupulous and intentional action to attempt to pass off on the brand equity of Gotham Beauty and capitalize on the goodwill we have worked so hard to achieve.”
