TruKid Reformulates Sport Sunscreen

Soccer, swimming, water skiing and outdoor games are in full swing this summer and TruKid, the maker of award-winning natural skin and hair care products, is asking parents and kids to be a good sport when it comes to using sunscreen. Its latest sun care offering is the water resistant Sunny Days Sport SPF 30+ sunscreen – free of vitamin A and chemicals, according to the company.

This sunscreen was voted by the Environmental Working Group as one of the safest sunscreens available. In fact, The EWG has awarded TruKid’s entire line the safety rating of 0-2, the safest rating of all kid’s skin care lines.

“We understand that families often head to the beach, pool or lake during the summer months,” said Jennifer Adams Bunkers, CEO of TruKid. “In developing Sport, it was crucial that our sunscreen formula be water resistant.We are proud to say your kids can dunk in the ocean and play their favorite water sports, while still maintaining sun protection.”

Adams Bunkers added that the regular Sunny Days SPF30+ lotion and the new SPORT sunscreen no longer uses phenoxyethanol. She said, “We replaced this FDA food grade preservative with another one that is even safer than ever – polyaminopropyl biguanide, which is used in contact lens solution.”

Made with natural ingredients such as aloe, coconut, cucumber and green tea and scented with essential oils, TruKid products are BPA and Phthalate free, made with certified organic and natural ingredients and are SLS, paraben, 1-4 dioxane and gluten-free.
