Ultra has earned a 2023 Silver EcoVadis score in recognition of the company’s commitment to “reduce risk, drive improvement and accelerate a positive impact on the planet and society,” as aligned with the EcoVadis mission.

Categories where the company scored highest include environment, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement.

“To have achieved silver is a tremendous accomplishment for our company and we appreciate that our sustainability practices are recognized as impactful,” said Brian Lynch, vice president of operations. “Ultra has participated in the EcoVadis program since 2018, striving for improvement year on year. We made the commitment to reduce our carbon footprint and have implemented best practices to help attain this goal.”

A Big Step in the Right Direction on Climate Journey

Ultra’s commitment in complying with environmental laws and the voluntary standards to which the organization subscribes reaches all aspects of the business and beyond. Employees are encouraged to take responsible action within the company as well as daily life, which is communicated via an environmental policy. In addition, Ultra maintains supplier engagement to understand their sustainability efforts, all funneling into the goal of reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

Additional steps Ultra has taken in addressing climate change is participating in CDP for annual environmental reporting, as well as joining the Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition (Supplier LoCT), an online learning platform that helps suppliers to major brands navigate the process of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

“In Supplier LoCT, we get hands-on guidance from sustainability experts to keep us moving forward from the initial stage of measuring and reporting our carbon footprint to setting a science-based target and ultimately reducing our emissions,” said Jim Lynch, vice president of global sales. “We are excited that we achieved the GHG Scope 1 and 2 Footprint Badge and calculated our Scope 3 footprint. This is a big step in the right direction on our climate journey, and we look forward to continuing our work.”
