Unilever Acquires Skin Care Brand Tatcha

UNITED KINGDOM: Unilever has signed an agreement to acquire skin care brand Tatcha, a beauty brand founded by Victoria Tsai in San Francisco in 2009. Tatcha is distributed through prestige retailers predominately in the US and has an outstanding social media and digital presence, as well as an innovation center in Japan known as the Tatcha Institute.

“We are delighted to have Tatcha joining our portfolio of prestige brands,” said Vasiliki Petrou, executive vice president, Unilever EVP and CEO prestige. “We are really looking forward to working with this amazing team and to continuing to grow the brand globally.”

The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2019. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
