The IFSCC Congress is coming to Dolphin Hotel at Walt Disney World in 2016.
• The US Society of Cosmetic Chemists will host the 29th Congress of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists, Oct. 23-26, 2016. The theme of the meeting is “Beyond Dreams into New Frontiers—Inspire, Imagine, Innovate.” The official hotel for the Congress is the Dolphin Hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

The organizing committee for the event includes Guy Padulo (Kobo Products, Inc.), Colleen Rocafort (BASF Corporation) and Amy Wyatt (Chanel, Inc.). Padulo will be the chair of the committee and Rocafort will chair the exhibition. Wyatt will be the IFSCC president in 2016. The honorary chair for the Congress is Dr. Robert Lochhead.

Many exciting ideas are planned for the event, according to the organizing committee, which hopes everyone will be inspired by the Congress to imagine new frontiers in an effort to help attendees innovate new concepts for the future of the cosmetic industry.

An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the support made by various cosmetic industry companies. The 2016 Congress Organizing Committee is currently soliciting sponsorships. In 2004, there were more than 70 companies that sponsored the Congress. Each received recognition of their contribution on the SCC website, in all promotional materials and throughout the Congress. Like 2004, this will be a unique opportunity to aid the Society in putting on the best event possible to showcase the depth of technology and high level of science taking place in the industry, according to organizers.

To help promote the event, the SCC will use QR code technology, which enables individuals to scan the QR code with their smart phones, tablets and iPads and receive an informative message. Thus far, two QR codes have been introduced. More are planned over the next four years.

The committee is also seeking companies interested in participating at the exhibition that will take place in conjunction with the Congress. It is anticipated that numerous booths representing many companies, both domestic and international, will be reserved. In 2004, there were more than 160 booths.

In an effort to assist with budgetary concerns, the SCC will offer installment plans for both sponsorship pledges and the exhibition costs for vendors.

The committee on scientific affairs will again be responsible for the scientific program including both podium and poster presentations. It is expected that the call for papers of both podium and poster presentations will produce a record number of abstract submissions. The 29th IFSCC Congress will boast the most inspired, imagined and innovative science throughout the podium presentations and posters on display, according to organizers.

More information on the Congress will be forthcoming including the official call for papers, the exhibitor prospectus and the launch of the 2016 Congress website. Check the SCC website for updates.
