Washington State Senate Approves Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act

Bill, which would restrict PFAS, phthalates and formaldehyde in cosmetics, heads to state's house of representatives.

The Washington State Senate has passed the Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act, SB 5703, a bill bans select chemicals used in cosmetic products, including PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), phthalates and formaldehyde. The bill passed 26-21 and now heads to the House of Representatives for consideration.
