Water Softener Boasts Skin Care Benefits

One of the most important ingredients to skin care—amino acids—are now being pitched by a company selling household water softening systems.

Austin, TX-based NewFresh Water Systems says Scale Soft liquid softener contains alanine, a “simple amino acid that is naturally non-toxic, bio-degradable, and contributes to healthy skin and hair.

The ingredient is automatically added to water in a minute amount via a dosing pump, according to the company

“Shampoos, rinses, and now our water treatment containing amino acids make hair less breakable by increasing its water retention capacity,” said Martin Cody, managing director of NewFresh Water Systems. “The first thing our customers notice is their water feels velvety, leaving skin smooth and hair softer.
