The New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) presents an innovative and immersive webinar on “Wellness in Beauty” to take place on Thursday, April 29, at 11:00 am EDT. The panel of wellness experts, including medical professionals and brands, will explore how the body, its functions, and its appearance are interconnected and how feeling well translates into looking good. The panel of speakers, moderated by Dr. Giorgio Dell'Acqua, PhD, NYSCC chair-elect, include: • Dr. Sophia Kogan, MD, co-founder and chief medical advisor, Nutrafol, discussing “Hair Wellness – An Innovative, Science-Based Approach to Addressing Hair Thinning from the Inside Out;” • Prof. Paul L Bigliardi, MD, director of the Dermato-Allergy Division, Dept. of Dermatology, University of Minnesota, presenting “Skin Sense: The Skin in the Center of Peripheral sensation and its Connection to Wellness;” • Jennifer Walsh, Wellness Columnist and Founder of Nature GreenPrint, sharing insight on “Beauty Connection with Nature and its Relationship to Wellness;” • Leor Fay Tal, technical marketing leader, Gattefosse, exploring “Beauty Meets Wellness & the Ingredient Landscape.” An added immersive layer of the “Wellness in Beauty” webinar will be a chair yoga session led by Kristin McGee, celebrity pilates & yoga instructor. McGee is author of “Chair Yoga: Sit, Stretch, and Strengthen Your Way to a Happier, Healthier You,” and also has a continuous roster of high profile celebrity clients including Emilia Clarke, Tina Fey, Bethenny Frankel, Savannah Guthrie, Steve Martin and Christine Taylor Stiller. McGee also pioneered the launch of Peloton’s yoga program and is currently instructing with them. “This forward thinking panel will take a deep dive into understanding how beauty is more than ‘skin deep’ and the interconnection and influence of wellness on product development, our appearance and inner beings,” said Dell’Acqua. “Incorporating an energizing yoga session into the program by celebrity yoga instructor Kristin McGee, underscores this connection.” Participants in “Wellness in Beauty,” will have a chance of winning a personalized copy of Kristin McGee’s “Chair Yoga” book and one grand prize winner will be announced at the end of the webinar to receive conference registration and travel accommodations for NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, November 10-11 at the Javits Center in New York.
