WWP, a provider of cosmetic packaging components, plastic tubes, and full-service turnkey solutions, has acquired Cosmetic Design Group (CDG) and Design Quest, both based in the Los Angeles area. The acquisitions bolster WWP’s position as a leading manufacturer for the cosmetics industry, and provide enhanced resources to better serve its increasingly diverse roster of clients. Design Quest provides clients in the cosmetics industry with turnkey beauty packaging solutions via cutting edge innovation, design, and manufacturing. Robert Tognetti, managing member of Design Quest, will join WWP’s executive team as chief operating officer. He has served as the chief operating officer and a member of the board of HCT, and was also COO of the Maesa Group. Additionally, Tognetti held the role of VP-global sourcing and operations at Limited Brands. In addition, Michael Tognetti will be joining WWP in the role of regional sales director, leading the west coast sales team. “Robert’s extensive industry experience will be a tremendous asset to the WWP team,” said Barry Freda, CEO of WWP. “His impressive record of stewardship within beauty and cosmetics sectors will be highly relevant to leading a variety of future initiatives.” Cosmetic Design Group (CDG) has been supplying national brands and retailers with innovation and brand partnership for more than 30 years. CDG offers full turnkey design services as well as packaging, assembly, displays, regulatory, and warehousing services. Maurice Rasgon, founder and chairman of CDG will continue to work with WWP as lead creative brand consultant and current CDG President Alison Kohlenstein will serve as executive vice president and will continue to lead CDG in product development and sales. “CDG’s broad array of offerings and experienced leadership will be a welcome addition to WWP,” said Freda. “Alison’s and Maurice’s lengthy industry resumes further strengthen our capabilities portfolio across a number of competencies.” “CDG is delighted to join the WWP family,” said Alison Kohlenstein, President of CDG. “The combination of WWP’s expertise in manufacturing of componentry and tubes, along with CDG’s expansive resources in turnkey, will perfectly position us to provide the very best in quality, service and speed to market for our customers.” The company is currently planning to open a new West Coast headquarters to merge WWP, Cosmetic Design Group and Design Quest into one Los Angeles based location. “The addition of DQ and CDG solidifies WWP’s commitment to invest in and expand our service portfolio and manufacturing capabilities,” said Jim Farley, EVP-global business development for WWP. “We are eager to facilitate a smooth transition and continue providing our clients with the best service possible.”
