ex-Shiseido Americas CEO Joins Maesa Board

Marc Rey's advice will help Maesa expand as a global beauty supplier and incubator.

Maesa appointed Marc Rey to its board as an independent non-executive director, effective March 2021. Rey has a long track record of innovation and growth in prestige beauty. Most recently, he was CEO and chief growth officer of Shiseido Americas, which is the No. 3 premium beauty player in the Americas thanks to a portfolio of emblematic brands which include Nars, BareMinerals, Laura Mercier and Drunk Elephant. Prior to joining Shiseido in 2015, he was senior vice president of Coty North America, and president of IDC at L’Oréal USA.

Founded in 1997, Maesa is a global beauty brand incubator, designing and manufacturing brands and private labels for mass, drug and speciality retailers. Maesa handles all the process from branding, marketing and product development to production, operational marketing and replenishment. Maesa focuses on incubating visionary and innovative beauty brands with real staying power across all beauty categories in North America and EMEA. As a member of Maesa’s board, Rey will leverage his 30 years of success and experience in digitalization and internationalization, as well as focus on M&A and innovation.
