The American Cleaning Institute Convention Week is underway in Orlando. The convention brings together home care suppliers and formulators from around the world. That makes it an excellent opportunity for Henkel to recognize its top suppliers in several categories.

Here are the winners of the Henkel Awards.

Laundry Care: Novozymes. Henkel relied on Novozymes’ technology to add a deep-clean dimension to its Persil detergent. The formula promises deep-clean stain removal, anti-malodor and freshness.

Hair Care: Innospec. Henkel incorporated an Innospec molecule which strengthens the hair fiber and prevents protein loss. The technology can be found in Repair Expert Brand Gliss Kur.

Home Care: Firmenich. Henkel’s Bref toilet bowl cleaner relies on Firmenich fragrance technology. Five years of research went into the formula that delivers improved odor control and freshness without an overwhelming fragrance dosage.

Sustainability: BASF. Henkel honored BASF for its Biomass Balance program. The program substitutes about 110,000 tons per year of fossil-based ingredients with renewable carbon sources using the BASF Biomass Balance program.

Supply Resilience: Symrise. Henkel recognized Symrise for its risk management solutions to safeguard supply. Symrise provided excellent operational performance and avoided out-of-stock situations, according to Henkel. Furthermore, Symrise managed risk via improved backwards integration.

Creating a Sustainable Future

Sustainability plays a key component in Henkel’s future. The company is determined to improve circularity, reduce its carbon footprint and increase transparency. By 2030, Henkel intends to use 100% renewable and degradable raw materials. By 2040, the company will be carbon dioxide neutral.

During the awards program, Henkel unveiled a name for its Supplier Relationship Management program (SRM): Growth via Resilience & SustaInovation Partnering (GRIP). GRIP is designed to supercharge collaboration between Henkel and its suppliers.
