Sun Bum Teams with Skin Cancer Foundation to Provide Free Skin Exams for Skin Cancer Awareness Month

The sun care brand will distribute literature, resources, and free sunscreen samples across the US during Skin Cancer Awareness month.

Sun Bum has partnered with the Skin Cancer Foundation to kick-off Skin Cancer Awareness (SCA) Month.

For the second consecutive year, Sun Bum is sponsoring Destination Healthy Skin – the foundation’s mobile skin cancer education and screening program, which travels across the country performing free skin cancer screenings by volunteer dermatologists. The tour will stop at Sun Bum’s headquarters in Encinitas this month, providing five days of free skin exams and sun protection products to the public.

Just Use Sunscreen Campaign

As part of its SCA Month initiatives, Sun Bum continues with its Just Use Sunscreen campaign, built on the brand’s commitment to sun education and protection.

“Through the Destination Healthy Skin program, we’re able to reach thousands of Americans around the country and provide free skin exams plus information about skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Without our sponsors, we wouldn’t be able to keep this lifesaving program on the road,” said Becky Kamowitz, interim executive director of The Skin Cancer Foundation. “We are so grateful for brands like Sun Bum, who demonstrate their commitment to our mission through their support of Destination Healthy Skin.”

Sun Bum will continue rolling out the Just Use Sunscreen campaign throughout SCA month, distributing sun care information, resources, and free sunscreen samples with the goal of inspiring people to make sunscreen a daily habit.

To amplify the campaign’s impact, Sun Bum will take to social media, starting with the release of a content series in collaboration with renowned athletes and local figures who will share valuable insights and resources. The series features surfer Malia Manuel and snowboarders Jill Perkins and Bryan Fox, among other notable personalities.
