, a French investment firm founded by Prisca Courtin-Clarins under the umbrella of Famille C, the Courtin-Clarins family holding company, has agreed to acquire clean makeup brand Ilia Beauty. The idea is that the deal will give the holding company a leader in the burgeoning clean beauty category, which is expected to register significant growth in coming years.

Over the past 11 years, he has launched and scaled multiple direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands and teams, achieving remarkable success and growth in short periods of time. Throughout his career, Chong has brought executive leadership and a problem-solving digital focus to global brands, producing effective results across customer acquisition, customer retention, customer experience, customer and web analytics and product management. His expertise adds significant growth value to DTC brands ranging from $0-$1m, helps scale them to 8-digit figure brands, within an impressive 1-2 year period.
 
Highlights of his time at ILIA include partnering with Nacelle to implement headless technology and improved developer workflows, which resulted in an upgraded customer experience site-wide. He also implemented ILIA’s Find My Shade and Compare Shades features, allowing customers to match skin tones to product shades virtually.
 
Over the past year, he has grown the customer experience team at ILIA from one to fifteen, in order to support future initiatives to continue to accommodate customer desires. Using a growth performance marketing approach, Albert has executed diligent digital work to solve problems and elevate the consumer journey.
 
Chong has a degree in Business Administration and Information Technology from British Columbia University of Technology. He currently resides in Seattle and is an e-sports video game enthusiast. He attributes his leadership, execution, strategy skills and growth mindset to playing competitive video games early-on in life and has applied that to his work/life.
