We utilize a patented fluorescent probe to tag carbonyl groups and measure the levels of carbonylated proteins in hair after bleaching or heat application. Additionally, to demonstrate Keradeep’s ability to prevent hair carbonylation caused by bleaching, we employ ALBA synchrotron technology. We also showcase Keradeep’s protective effect in maintaining the positional structure of keratin using Xpolar® technology.

These studies have shown that Keradeep works from within to protect cuticle proteins from oxidative stress by 68% and cortex proteins by 71%, preventing the appearance of carbonyl groups and the formation of oxidized cysteine species.
