Tina Gill, a partner of Organic Monitor and its marketing manager, died March 4. She was 41.

Gill joined Organic Monitor in spring 2003. She was initially involved in business development for research & consulting services and eventually moved into events. She was instrumental in developing sustainability summits, which now take place in Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific. She had a passion for marketing, building long-term relationships with international clients.

According to Amarjit Sahota, founder of Organic Monitor and her life partner: ‘”She had a larger than life personality, lighting up a room wherever she went…This is a big loss not to just Organic Monitor, but the organic & sustainability community for her enthusiasm and passion will be sorely missed.”

Gill was born in Hong Kong. She studied in Canada for several years before returning to Hong Kong and completing her bachelor’s degree. She had a successful career in marketing wine and IT solutions before moving to Singapore in 1999 after she married Sahota. Whilst in Singapore, she received many awards for high sales performance. She followed Sahota to London in 2002. After the birth of their first child Anika, she started helping Organic Monitor with business development activities. In the last few years, Gill helped extend the sustainability summits to the major geographic regions of the world.

Sheis survived by daughters Anika (12), Taran (6), and son Jagat (3), as well as her life partner Amarjit. She is also survived by two brothers and both parents all of whom continue to reside in Hong Kong.
