Helen of Troy Announces Carameros to Assume CFO Responsibilities

Helen of Troy Ltd., El Paso, TX, announced that executive vice president Christopher L. Carameros has assumed the additional responsibilities as the company’s chief financial officer. In addition to his new duties as CFO, Mr. Carameros will continue to oversee the company’s finance division, international sales, the brush, comb and accessory division, as well as the newly established Idelle Labs division.

Russell Gibson, the company’s former CFO, resigned his position on June 13 to pursue another career opportunity. Mr. Gerald J. Rubin, the company’s chairman, chief executive officer and president, stated, “Chris’ experience, professionalism and knowledge of our total business will provide for a smooth transition into his additional role as chief financial officer.”

Mr. Carameros formerly served as a Certified Public Accountant in private practice, and as senior vice president-finance and chief financial officer for Farah Inc. He also served on the board of directors of Farah Inc. from 1987 through its acquisition in 1998. Mr. Carameros has been a member of the board of directors of Helen of Troy Ltd. since June 1993 and was appointed executive vice president earlier this year.
