Virtue Labs Awarded New Patent for Composition that Reduces Hair Breakage

US Patent No. 11,883,519 B2 (Melisse Shaban, William Jacobsen, Erin Falco); Virtue Labs, LLC, Winston-Salem, NC, has patented a method for reducing hair breakage via a keratin protein cosmetic composition that comprises at least one keratin protein derived from human hair; and a cosmetic base solution, wherein the keratin protein is not denatured and maintains natural keratin protein conformation, and wherein at least about 30% of the keratin protein exhibits a molecular weight of at least about 443 KDa. The composition is applied to the surface of the hair and rinsed off to remove any excess of the composition. thereby increasing hair thickness and hair volume to reduce hair breakage.
