WeThrift Identifies Spring 2022’s Top 10 Nail Trends on Pinterest

Spring is here, and consumers are ready to embrace the season with a fresh set of nails. And the influencers are ready to showcase beauty trends on social media.

 

According to WeThrift, the keywords “spring nails” have skyrocketed by 1900% on Pinterest, and the data collection experts that purport to save shoppers millions of dollars a month at over 100,000 online stores, have used Pinterest data to determine spring’s 10 hottest nail trends. 

 

Topping the list is yellow nails, with a huge search volume increase of 227%.“This shade seems to roll back around every spring, with this year being no exception,” said trend specialist Nick Drewe. “It's all about that intense, vibrant vibe. Yellow naturally evokes positive emotions and the bright tones always work well this time of year.” 

 

Another trend dominating the season is flower nails. From retro daisies to flower crowns, floral nails are increasingly growing in popularity as consumers head into spring, with a search volume increase of 203%. 

 

This pattern has reached a search increase of 87%, and they’re all the craze this spring. Fun tip: use varying shades of green to add character to the nails. 

 

 

The color green is a firm favorite in the beauty industry, no matter what the season. Sage green, a soft tone that will complement any spring wardrobe, has experienced an 84% increase in searches and is a subtle way to introduce a new color to one’s beauty regime. 

 

For unfamiliar with the term “coconut girl,” it’s a trend that took over social media in the spring/summer of 2021. With a 75% increase in searches this season, the aesthetic is resurfacing. It is defined by the hibiscus flower and inspired by aloha shirts. WeThrift recommends incorporating 70s bright colors that mimic a Hawaiian beach and adding an animated flower to tie the look together.

The perfect option for consumers who are indecisive with nail colors, ombre is a good start. Dominating 63% of searches, it blends together multiple shades, including complimentary colors like pink and yellow. The outcome gives a gradient effect to the nails which is a year-round favorite.  

Coming in at 44% of searches, WeThrift owes this trend to HBO’s hit show Euphoria for popularizing the rhinestone nail trend. Adding rhinestones to nails is a great way to glam up any look in a subtle way and is a perfect accessory for a day to night look. 

 

Kawaii nails originated from Japan and has recently grown in popularity around the world with the likes of songstress Megan Thee Stallion sporting the trend. The way to achieve this trend is for consumers to be as colorful and creative as possible.

 

A simple way to incorporate multiple colors into nail design this season is to color block. Unlike ombre nails, complimentary colors aren’t necessary to achieve this look. With color blocking consumers can also use abstract shapes to their design to make the contrasting colors look more interesting.  

 

The regency core aesthetic is making a comeback in fashion and beauty this spring. With the latest season of Bridgerton being released in the upcoming weeks, fans will most likely be exploring this trend. To get ahead of this trend, consumers will need a nude color to use as a base and then add some decorative small pearls.
