First the UK, then the US. Now, The Body Shop’s French subsidiary entered into administration. It's just the latest move in an effort to save the ecobeauty retailer. Aurelius acquired The Body Shop from Natura in November 2023. Since then, the private equity group has put an aggressive restructuring plan in place to halt The Body Shop's slide.

In addition to closures in the UK and North America, in February the company agreed to sell most of its business in mainland Europe and parts of Asia. The move impacts about 14% of The Body Shop's global business. Prior to the closures and spin-offs, the B Corp-certified company operated around 2,800 retail locations in more than 70 countries.
