Lipotec is highlighting Bodyfensine, which it calls a reinforcement of the skin’s natural defense system. The product is on display at Centerchem’s booth (No. 1132). This tripeptide promises to keep skin healthy and stimulate beta-defensins expression. In fact, it lowers the risk of possible infections by external agents, such as in acne-prone skin, when formulated at 2-5%. Bodyfensine (INCI: Butylene glycol, water, acetyl dipeptide-3 aminohexanoate) has been designed through a combinatorial chemistry approach. It stimulates human-beta-defensin -2 and -3, enhancing the skin’s natural defense system, therefore maintaining the balance between commensal microbes and pathogens in the skin. More specifically, Bodydefensine boosts the production of hBD-2 by 26% and hBD-3 proteins by 10% to enhance the skin’s natural defense system. It also increases hBD-2 mRNA content by 26%.
