With the release of the new movie, “Sound of Freedom,” human trafficking has been a topic on everyone’s mind.

“A Path Forward” nail strip retails for $14.

July 30 also marked World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, a day designated to recognize the efforts made to urge governments around the world to defeat human trafficking.

Human Trafficking affects an estimated 40.3 million people globally along with sex trafficking being a $10 billion industry in the US, with the primary victims being women and children. For traumatized survivors, 80% of victims end up back in the streets with no safe recovery home or support system.

As both a global and local issue, nail art brand Color Street’s charitable arm, the Color Street Foundation, is supporting prevention and awareness, resources and victims with a $40,000 donation to two organizations: $30,000 to Refuge for Women and $10,000 to Victim Services of Durham Region.

The brand is encouraging beauty enthusiasts to wear their support of the cause with its limited-edition “A Path Forward” nail strips ($14) — a sparkly, nave blue hue — to spark a conversation about this important cause.

“A Path Forward” is available on colorstreet.com
