The US Department of Justice has closed its investigation against Symrise regarding its alleged participation in “unlawful agreements” with competitors in the fragrance business.

In a Feb. 5 letter to the company, authorities informed the supplier they found no unlawful practices and are closing their investigation into the matter accordingly.

Symrise has argued strongly from the outset that it should never have been part of this investigation and that the actions taken by the authorities were not justified,” company officials said in a press release. “The company remains committed to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.”
