Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins Confirmed as FDA Commissioner 

The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) congratulates Dr. Martin “Marty” Makary on his confirmation to lead the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 

According to Tom Myers, President and CEO of the Personal Care Products Council:

“The cosmetics and personal care products industry looks forward to working with Commissioner Makary on policies that enhance the safety and efficacy of essential products to consumers’ well-being, hygiene and beauty routines. 

“PCPC believes it is important to prioritize the continued implementation of the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act, the approval of new sunscreen filters and the validation of non-animal testing approaches for cosmetics and personal care products development. These critical actions help meet the evolving needs of consumers and increase confidence in the safety of our products.
