Fifty years after escaping Communist Hungary and marrying the man who would become her lifelong business partner, Ilona Meszaros, founder of skincare brand Ilona Beauty, will relaunch her famed Budapest Cocktail sheet mask in celebration of its half-century milestone.

Used in the early 1970s as an add-on treatment in skin care institutes she opened up in major cities across the country, the concoction of royal jelly, propolis, hyaluronic acid, herbs, calendula, ginseng, serum ampoules and imported mineral water from Hungary was custom blended, refrigerated and dispensed via a CO2 whipped cream-like dispenser. Applied at the end of the treatment, clients, which ranged from celebrities to socialites, were left with a glowing complexion, a signature look of Ilona Beauty.

In keeping with maker’s seven touch points of skincare – performance, efficacy, texture, touch, luxury, aroma and quality – the Budapest Cocktail is being relaunched as a modern conduction foil sheet mask for in-home use. The unique, three-layer, two-part mask uses foil conduction technology to help cocoon and warm the skin, providing for the absorption of all the vital elements. Developed with a prestigious laboratory, Budapest Cocktail contains many of the original ingredients.
