Luna Daily is expanding its range with a new “Motherhood” collection that will launch at Sephora.com in the US. The range includes Nip + Lip Balm, Post-Birth Soothing Spray, Perineal Prep Oil and Everywhere Motherhood Wash—products formulated specifically for the needs of moms-to-be and new mothers. It was developed with a collective of dermatologists, gynecologists and a pelvic floor physiotherapist, according to the brand.
The launch marks new territory for Sephora, which will make it available on June 25.
“I started Luna Daily with a mission to connect women of all ages and stages to each other and their entire bodies. With 67% of women feeling a loss of identity as they become mothers, and 72% of women feeling totally invisible with motherhood, it’s clear that needs are not being served by the industry,” Katy Cottam, founder of Luna Daily.
“With our new Motherhood range, we’re hoping not only to revolutionize the product category with our expert-developed, clinically tested products in under-serving categories, but to ensure that women truly feel seen during this life stage,” she added.
Cottam is a former global head of brand marketing at Charlotte Tilbury.
Perineal Prep Oil is a 100% natural, lightweight massage oil that helps the body prepare for birth by protecting and softening perineal skin. When combined with Luna Daily’s expert-developed massage technique, Luna said the oil can reduce the risk of perineal tearing during childbirth.
Everywhere Motherhood Wash is a gynecologist-recommended wash effective for all skin, including intimate areas. It is safe for pregnancy, post-birth and while breastfeeding.
Luna Daily’s Nip + Lip Balm is is a cooling and soothing silver-tipped balm for dry, cracked skin, including nipples and lips. The lanolin-free gel formula is fast-absorbing, non-greasy and can be popped in the fridge for an extra soothing sensation. The formula includes Lipex L’Sens, cacay oil and vitamin E. Clinically tested, it is flavor and scent free, which means it does not need to be removed before breastfeeding.
Post-Birth Soothing Spray provides instant relief from swelling, pain, bruising or inflammation. It is infused with arnica, calendula, lactic acid and aloe vera to help soothe intimate skin, including perineum (from post-birth discomfort). It can be sprayed directly onto skin or into maternity underwear.
For the launch of Luna Daily’s Motherhood collection, the brand will also be partnering with Peanut, a platform for women navigating fertility, pregnancy, motherhood and menopause. Peanut has more than 3.5 million users.
Peanut Founder Michelle Kennedy has also become an investor in Luna Daily.
