Mary Kay Was in ‘Excellent Hands’ with Late Cofounder Richard R. Rogers

Happi Top 50 Company Mary Kay is mourning the loss of cofounder and Chairman Emeritus and son of Mary Kay, Richard R. Rogers.

“The entire Mary Kay family—including millions of independent sales force members across 40 markets—mourns this loss,” said the company on its website.

Rogers was the co-founder of Mary Kay in the 1960s and held leadership positions at the beauty products company, including as CEO. Together with his wife, Nancy, he supported a variety of charitable and cultural causes. Rogers played a role in the powder pink luxury vehicles that are synonymous with the brand.

Officials said Rogers, who passed away at 82, ensured Mary Kay was placed in “excellent hands.” The Mary Kay Leadership Team, including his son, Company CEO Ryan Rogers, remains “firmly committed” to upholding Mary Kay’s vision, principles and “enduring opportunity for women around the world.”
