ScentWorld 2013 is Feb. 6-8 in New York City

ScentWorld has released the nominees for its SMItty Awards—which honor firms that have significantly contributed and impacted the world of scent and sensory marketing. The awards will be presented at the ScentWorld 2013annual conference, which will be held Feb.6-8 at the Marriott Downtown in New York City’s Financial District.

ScentWorld 2013 focuses on leveraging scent and sensory marketing’s relevance and resonance to maximize revenue in today’s marketplace. The purpose of the three-day international event is to place attendees on the fast track to utilizing the power of scent and sensory marketing to increase sales and create lasting emotionalbonds with today’s sophisticated consumers, according to event organizers.

The four SMItty Award categories and nominees include:

Harald Vogt Scent Marketer of the Year (an awards named for the late ScentWorld founder and industry pioneer Harald Vogt):

•Prolitec and Micro Fragrance for Maruhan pachinko parlors scenting

•ScentAir for “City of Dreams Rainforest” Installation

Best Sensory Marketing Campaign (designated for the most creative and effective sensory marketing campaign with the use of scent and/or sensory marketing):

•Semichem for scented bus shelter campaign

•Tracy Pepe of Nose Knows Design for YSmell Project

Most Innovative Use of Scent Marketing (for the brand owner who has implemented an outstanding use of scent, in a way that is new and unexpected):

•Shania Twain for concert scenting

Scent Technology Innovation Award (presented to the company that has created and marketed the most innovative new scent technology product or process):

•Scentandrea for Scent Halo Light

•Exhalia for scented POP for Colgate Palmolive

•Scent2Market for scent squared machines innovation

The honors will be presented at a gala dinner on Feb. 7.Author, director and curator of the Center of Olfactory Art at the Museum of Arts and Designin New York City Chandler Burr will deliver the gala keynote address.
