For nimble-fingered scrollers, seeing their nails in constant motion while picking up their smart phones all day is a reminder to keep up with the latest nail trend content.
While the polka-dot trend takes shape, consumers are connecting with the jelly gel polish and peel-off nail polish. These products constitute the fastest-growing nail products per New York City-based trend tracker Spate’s Popularity Index.
Lovers of the gel manicure know the tediousness tied to removal. This is where the ease of peel-off nail polish brings a nice sigh of relief.
Peel-off nail polish has grown by 161.0% compared to last year, and across platforms, analysts say, with TikTok leading the conversation with 52.9% of the Popularity Share, while searches average 3.9K per month on Google, and content generates 364.3K weekly views on TikTok. The appeal spans multiple consumer segments: at-home nail enthusiasts (which could be a recession indicator, analysts say), gel-x wearers and those looking to limit nail damage.
On TikTok, #jellojello stands out as the top-related brand with 45.0K average weekly views for its peel-off base and gel remover. Jello Jello also leads on search with 6.8K weekly views, showing strong traction but leaving plenty of room for new brands to innovate. Content tagged with #peeloff (141.3K average weekly views alongside this trend) is filled with tutorials on how to use peel-off bases or remove gel-x nails. #Asmr also ranks as a top-related hashtag with 166.6K weekly views.
Those jelly nails flooding Pinterest feeds aren’t merely the result of a steady hand. They’re powered by the rise of jelly gel polish, a trend that has grown by 299.8% compared to last year, and across platforms, analysts say. Google currently owns the trend with 69.5% of the Popularity Share and searches averaging 1.9K per month.
On TikTok, jelly nails generate 129.7K average weekly views, with brands like #Makartt, #BeetlesGelPolish and #BornPretty nailing the trend through sharp tutorials and how-to content. From natural to playful and whimsical, this look offers both nude and colorful options, reflecting consumers’ desire to showcase their aesthetic online and offline. This trend’s top-related hashtags are #nailtutorial (104.0K average weekly views) and #nailhack (98.4K average weekly views), which shows that consumers are using the platform to find inspiration and learn techniques.
