With dermatologists drilling home the importance of daily sunscreen use (cloudy days included), sunscreen has become every beauty enthusiast’s invisible accessory. While the market is saturated in SPF products from mineral to chemical ranging from 30 to 100, beauty trend tracker Spate has the 411 on the two sun care brands sharing the top growth in the US.

Tocobo

K-beauty brand Tocobo currently has an average monthly search volume of 7.6K and a +420.6% growth in searches compared to last year. Per analysts, consumers are particularly intrigued by the Tocobo sunscreen stick. Convenient for travel, easy to apply and ideal for touch-ups, users don’t have to sweat sanitizing their hands after each application.

Alastin

Alastin is currently experiencing an average of 3.1K monthly searches, with a +105.0% growth compared to last year. The top searches for Alastin tinted sunscreen and Alastin tinted SPF indicate a heightened interest in tinted options per analysts. Plus, tinted sunscreen is gaining popularity, with a +23.8% increase. Further, with the surge of the skincare-makeup hybrid, tinted sunscreen offers a seamless entry point into base products. Additionally, analysts say Alastin shines with its dermatologist and clinically-backed messaging. In an industry flooded with unsubstantiated claims, analysts say there’s much to learn from this approach, as consumers seek assurance that they’re in trustworthy hands.
