As the gourmand beauty trend richens into 2026, Japanese skincare brand Tatcha has stirred some consumer-favorite matcha into the mix.

The brand has introduced its new Matcha Foam Cleanse. The gel-to-foam cleanser melts away oil and impurities while bringing skin back into balance without feeling stripped.

Japanese Matcha Culture

Inspired by the Japanese Awa Sengan cleansing technique of whipping cleanser into a pillowy cloud of foam, the soft, airy gel-cleanser transforms cleansing into a sensorial ritual of renewal, says the brand. Rooted in the harmony and tranquility of Japanese matcha culture, the foam cleanse decongests pores, removes excess oil and impurities and helps maintain the skin barrier and pH balance.

The Matcha Foam Cleanse uses four mild amino acid-based surfactants to create ultra-fine bubbles that cleanse with less friction. The formula pairs Japanese ceremonial-grade matcha extra to help calm visible redness; green clay to absorb excess oil and refine the look of pores; and prebiotic inulin to support a healthy microbiome and balanced skin barrier.

Matcha Foam Cleanse retails for $40 at Sephora, Ulta and online at tatcha.com.
