Thigh cream is driving the growth of the leg care category within body care products, with cellulite being the primary concern, according to Spate. Search queries reveal thigh cream is also being searched to prevent chafing, with leg chafing (+11.0% year over year) being the top body concern in terms of search increase and growth. Related searches alongside cellulite include terms like: best, what is, how to use, and review. There are 1,600 searches on average every month in the US for thigh cream, which is very low volume relative to searches for leg care within the body care product category. It’s grown +59.3% in searches since last year, with Clarins as the brand leader amidst medium competition. The seasonality tracker reveals that thigh cream is one of the top growing bath and body trends exhibiting very strong seasonality for the warmer season June-August when dresses, shorts, and other summer styles make their summer debut. With sun care also trending in beauty, Spate encourages to consumers to consider developing products with SPF benefits during this peak season. Since it is an early-stage trend that’s likely to last, brands can establish themselves in the space by developing products that offer consumers a variety of different body care solutions paired alongside lifestyle tips to prepare for the hot months ahead. Cream Blush Given powder blush’s breakability, cream blush is a more sustainable option. According to Spate, there is an increase of +4,600 monthly average searches. Related searches include terms such as: stick, swatch, skin, how to, gel, mature, glowing, bronzer, and buildable. Top colors by volume include: pink, plum, peach and caramel. On average, there are 27,500 searches every month in the US for cream blush, which is high volume relative to other blush product searches. It’s grown +20.3% in searches since last year with high competition and six market leaders: Maybelline, Milk Makeup, Charlotte Tilbury, Elf Cosmetics, Stila and Beautycounter. Search queries reveal that consumers of a variety of different skin types are searching for the right cream blush product for their skin. Mature skin especially, comes up frequently in search, displaying a growing need from this consumer segment. In fact, mature as a related search is up +62.3% year-over-year across the whole makeup category. Brands should take note and make sure to develop products suitable for every consumer group alongside communication on which products work best for their needs. Related search terms like “buildable”, “gel,” and “stick” show a variety of preferences as well, with interest in customizable, lightweight, and easy to apply formats that can be catered to different skin types and age groups.
