Patent No. US 6,762,160 B2: Universite de Montreal, Montreal, Canada, patented a composition to remove a biofilm from a surface without the use of peroxide, terpene or sodium hypochiorite. The agent contains cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) detergent and a salt acid that together can displace divalent cations and dismantle and destroy the structure of the biofilm.
