Venn Skincare, Inc. filed an international patent for the water solubilization of Ginsenoside Compound K, which is one of the main bioactive components of ginseng that is obtained from bio-conversion of ginseng saponin using microorganism fermentation. Compound K is known to deliver powerful, anti-aging benefits, including fighting active oxygen and free radicals, promoting collagen synthesis and elastase inhibition, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, and improving skin elasticity and firmness, according to the company. Until now, this potent ingredient was unable to be effectively used in skin care formulas and absorbed into the skin due to its extremely low solubility and hydrophobic properties. With its solubilization technology, Venn is able to dissolve Compound K into a water-solubilized mixture containing high concentrations of Compound K, and thereby create skin care formulas with Compound K as a key ingredient that can be effectively absorbed by skin and deliver powerful, anti-aging benefits.
