Wellness brand Barrière doesn’t want vacationers to burn this summer.

True to its name, the brand has developed a new wearable patch aimed to remind consumers when it’s time to reapply their sunscreen.

The UV Sensor Stickers’ summer-centric design becomes visible from sun exposure, alerting the wearer it’s time to reapply their sunscreen.

According to brand research, one in three Americans reapply sunscreen every two hours while outside, and 39% of sunscreen users apply it and unwittingly not again, resulting in sunburn. The new UV Sensor Stickers called Burn Notice are transdermal patches powered by UV Sensitive Print technology. The patch starts clear and as UV exposure builds, opaque artwork in the form of seashells, flamingos and palm trees gradually appears. When the full design is visible, the waterproof, plant-powered and hypoallergenic patches remind wearers it’s time to reapply sunscreen. Broad-spectrum SPF can be applied over the patch and surrounding skin until it returns to clear.

The launch follows the success of the brand’s Dear Dairy Lactose Patch, which sold out within the first week and sold over a million patches within the last month alone. Barrière’s wearable wellness portfolio expands with UV Sensor Stickers because of strong demand for effortless solutions, according to brand officials.

Burn Notice contains 30 patches and retail for $12.98 on mybarriere.com.
