Stephen Greenberg To Retire from Lipo Chemicals

After 33 years of dedicated service with Lipo Chemicals, Inc. as senior vice president, Stephen Greenberg, Ph.D. has announced his retirement, effective July 13, 2012.

Dr. Greenberg’s long and distinguished career in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries began after obtaining his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1963. Before joining Lipo, Steve had 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries.

Included in his long list of accomplishments while at Lipo is his service as president of the IFSCC.

Among Greenberg’s many contributions through the years, the one of which he is most proudwas establishing Lipo as an international company, opening overseas offices and developing a network of distributors that increased the international awareness and technical reputation of Lipo throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. Today Lipo is recognized as a first class, international, cosmetic specialty chemicals supplier.

Under his leadership, Lipo launched a continuous series of new products to the market. Most recently, the launch of LiposhieldHEV Melanin introduced a unique approach to reduce the signs of aging, which won the innovation prize at In-Cosmetics in 2011.

Many of the successful products Lipo currently markets are a direct result of Greenberg’s work developing new partnerships, often with major corporations who needed Lipo’s expertise to take their products into the personal care market.

Greenberg has led the technical R&D effort across the Lipo group and his experience and leadership will be missed by the entire team.

Chris Humberstone, executive vice president, said, “I am very grateful to Steve for all he has done for Lipo over the years. Steve has reached a point in his life where spending an increased amount of quality time with his wife and family has become a main priority. He has been a good friend and business associate and I would like to personally thank him for all of his efforts and significant contributions that have been instrumental in Lipo’s success over the years. Among other things, Steve played a crucial role in taking the company international and the successful launch of many products since Lipo’s formation. We will miss him, but understand his desire to make this tough choice to step away and enjoy his time with his family and friends.”
