Whirlpool Corporation has launched a liquid laundry detergent called Swash, marking its foray into the liquid laundry detergent category.
The ultra-concentrated (8x) formulation is said to wash up to 83 regular loads, and can be used in all machines. The packaging comes with “precision pour cap” that dispenses the detergent in a pre-measured dose that limits residue and other build-up in the washer, according to the company.
"At Whirlpool Corporation, we've found that many people wash clothes with the idea that more detergent means cleaner laundry, when in fact using more detergent than you need can leave residue on clothing as well as build-up in your washer over time," said Danielle Antonelli, senior brand manager for Swash. "We saw a real need to provide consumers with a product that makes it easy to get the right amount of detergent for every load while also helping boost your washer's ability to fight stains."
Swash is available in three fragrances: Pure Linen, Free & Clear (unscented) and Simply Sunrise.
The liqiud formulatuion may be a first for the appliance company, but using the name Swash isn't. Whirlpool partnered with Procter & Gamble to develop and launch a 10-minute clothing care appliance called Swash back in 2014.
Also, in 2010, P&G launched a line of stain, wrinkle and odor removal solutions under the name Swash.
Swash detergent is available exclusively on Amazon, starting at $15.99 MSRP, according to Whirlpool.
