Skin care helped define self-care in 2020 and did quite well during such a tumultuous year. It became a solo experience at home we look forward to and find comfort in, amidst the pandemic confusion. It also unexpectedly stepped up its game. Technology is booming, ingredients are more innovative than ever before and new categories are creating opportunities to explore unchartered waters.
One of the leading 2021 trends forecasted is micro-biome skincare. The recently rebranded Mother Dirt collection has added the Peacekeeper Kit to its collection for 2021 and rolled it out to beauty editors virtually in a recent event.
“We have received countless emails, DMs, reviews and social posts asking for more probiotic formulas and we are thrilled to finally be able to deliver on our customer’s requests across the entire product line,” said Senior VP of Product & Marketing Karin Piscitelli.
The PeaceKeeper ($119) features a trio of products that repair the damage caused by traditional skincare and rebalance the skin biome. When used together, the powerful probiotic extracts in the Probiotic Foaming Cleanser and Probiotic Moisturizing Serum prime skin so the live and active AO+ Restorative Mist can nourish and restore.
“We at Mother Dirt believe that your skin is fundamentally amazing,” said Piscitelli. “What we have found is that it is actually traditional skincare that has adversely affected the skin’s natural microbiome and stripped it of the powerful bacteria that keeps the peace and allows it to thrive. This presents itself in the form of dryness, oiliness, breakouts, and everything in between. Our latest kits are scientifically based to restore the complex ecosystem of your skin. Just like nature intended.”
In other news, Mother Dirt is set to roll out a Probiotic Moisturizing Body Wash and Probiotic Moisturizing Body Oil in March 2021. Both act as a primer for the brand’s patented AO+ Restorative Mist, and can be used as part of its Active Probiotic System for enhanced results.
