The maker of Artistry cosmetics and Nutrilite supplements is making some changes to shore up its business.
MiBiz.com, a Grand Rapids, MI-based online news outlet, is reporting that Amway Corp. is cutting six percent of its global workforce. The report contends that layoffs will impact approximately 900 people with the majority of those staffers based at the direct-seller’s headquarters.
MiBiz is also reporting that Amway plans to combine its personal products and skin care production into one facility in Ada, and will outsource its home care production. In addition, as part of the restructuring, Amway may move some of its Nutrilite manufacturing capacity from its facilities in Buena Park, CA to West Michigan.
