Procedure

: Phase A - Add Phase A ingredients to vessel with moderate mixing in formula order. Gradually sprinkle Synthalen CR. Once Phase A is thoroughly mixed and uniform, begin heating to 70°C. Phase B - Premix Phase B in a side vessel and heat to 70°C. When both phases are melted and uniform, slowly add Phase B to Phase A with increased mixing as needed. Discontinue heat. Phase C - At or below 40°C, add Phase C. Phase D - Pre-mix Phase D and add to batch. Viscosity may decrease. Mix and cool completely.

Properties

pH: 3.0 to 3.5 Viscosity: Spindle T-C @ 20 rpm = 3,500 to 3,700 cP.
