The Yankee Candle Company, Inc., recently rolled out a limited edition collection, Coconut Numerical. Bringing together two growing trends in one contemporary line, this collection is inspired by the popularity of coconut as both a fragrance and a flavor, as well as the iconic home decor trend of numbering, the company contends.
Products range from tea lights box ($9.99) to large two-wick tumblers ($27.99); scents include #1 Coconut & Sea Air, #2 Coconut & Beach Flower, #3 Coconut & Mandarin, #4 Coconut & Lime and #5 Coconut & Vanilla Bean. Happi tested the #2 Coconut and Beach Flower. The scent is softer than the usual Yankee Candle pop of fragrance, yet holds some weight at the double wick in the tumbler adds more burn. The packaging succeeds in a more “boutique” look with its modern graphics (the number jumps out at you) complete with a flat, streamlined lid. An all-soy variation might open up this marketplace even more for the consumer it’s targeting with the new range of products. Get it while it’s hot!
