JAPAN: Nippon Fine Chemical Co. has developed an oil-based agent that helps hair care products and lotions penetrate hair and skin more easily. The new agent has a three-dimensional molecular structure, composed of dicarboxylic acid, which increases moisture retention and lubrication, and ethoxydiglycol, which makes dissolution in water easier.
When mixed with proteins that help strengthen hair, the new agent reportedly has 15 times the recovery effect on damaged hair Similar products marketed in the past changed over time, becoming strongly acidic. The three-dimensional molecular structure of the new agent, however, prevents changes in quality caused by hydrolysis.
The company is shipping samples to cosmetics manufacturers.
