Galaxy Surfactants Ltd. has acquired TRI‐K Industries, Inc. The transaction, which was completed on July 1, 2009, includes Maybrook, Inc. and makes Galaxy Surfactants the majority owner, with Dr. Gerd Dahms & Associates holding a minority share. Galaxy Surfactants has also acquired a majority shareholding in Oberhausen Technology Center, Germany which is a state‐of‐the‐art R&D facility for personal care products.
TRI‐K Industries, Inc. is a distributor and producer of specialty ingredients to the cosmetics and personal care markets. Headquartered in New Jersey, U.S., with additional protein manufacturing facilities in New Hampshire, the company has operated in the personal care industry for over 30 years and employs 40 people.
“The specialty chemicals strategy of Galaxy is focused on the priority markets of Europe and the Americas.
