Rahn (Booth No. 131) will launch two new active ingredients for skin care formulas at Suppliers' Day. Slimexir effectively refines the silhouette, while fighting excessive fat. It contains X-Melt, a synergistic blend of methyl xanthines, extract of artichoke (Cynara scolymus) and the polysaccharide Levan. X-Melt prevents the uptake of fat into the adipocytes (fat storing cells) by reducing their rate of maturation. In addition, Slimexir's components activate lipolysis, which triggers the fragmentation and decomposition of the existing fat. X-Melt and the artichoke extract stimulate cutaneous microcirculation and assist the transport of the broken down fat. Furthermore, Levan provides a tightening effect on the skin. Slimexir has a visible and measurable body-shaping effect resulting in a significant reduction of abdomen volume.
In studies, Slimexir has been proven to: prevent formation of new adipocytes (in-vitro study), reduce lipid accumulation in adipocytes (in-vitro study), stimulate degradation of existing fat (in-vitro study), trigger fragmentation of lipid droplets (postulated mechanism) (in-vitro study) and siignificantly reduce abdomen volume (in-vivo study).
Another new product, Reforcyl, which is approved by Ecocert, helps regenerate the barrier function of mature skin. The plant Gynostemma pentaphyllum from Asia activates LXR and stimulates the synthesis of epidermal lipids; the skin barrier is restored from within.
Meanwhile, Cistus incanus strengthens the reduced antioxidative defense system found in mature skin. Reactive oxygen species are neutralized, thus preventing further damage of the skin barrier. The amino acid glutamin acts as metabolic fuel and re-activates the decelerated metabolism of aging skin cells. Reforcyl shows a five-fold efficacy against the appearance of mature skin; hydration, firmness, wrinkle depth, elasticity and skin smoothness are all markedly improved.
Reforcyl has been proven to activate LXR in human primary keratinocyes, as well as key enzymes involved in epidermal lipid synthesis (in-vitro studies), improveskin hydration, firmness, elasticity and smoothness (in-vivo study) andimprove wrinkle depth in eye area (in-vivo study).
