Evonik is introducing several new ideas in cosmetic chemistry at Suppliers' Day. Its Powder-to-Cream concept, based on its Aerosil Fumed and Sipernat Precipitated products, consists of two phases: powdered water and actives absorbate. The silica particles make it possible to formulate an aqueous phase into a free-flowing powder, while the precipitated silica enables chemists to incorporate active ingredients into powder form. The result is a powdery mixture that breaks into a creamy texture.
Also during the Show, Evonik is introducing Tegosoft AC, an all-natural emollient based on renewable feedstocks that was created using Evonik's low-energy enzymatic technology.
Antil Spa 80 is a PEG-free thickener that provides a stable viscosity across a broad temperature range. Rewopol SBC 55, a new preservative and sulfate-free sulfosuccinate, is said to be ideal for mild rinse-off applications. Finally Abil EM 180, a new W/O emulsifier, gives formulators the ability to stabilize difficult systems and is flexible with a wide range of active ingredients.
